The Council of Scientific Society Presidents is committed to diversity, equity, ethics, inclusivity, justice, and respect amongst our membership and in all activities, events, programs, and services. Scientific innovation and leadership development require bringing together diverse ideas and people from varied backgrounds who may have different world views and approaches to solving problems. CSSP seeks to include and engage members across age, gender identity and expression, race, nationality, ethnicity, physical ability, marital status, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, military or veteran status, and any other facet of social diversity in our society, and seeks to remove obstacles to their professional growth and advancement independent of their current position. Through our actions at the international, national, and local levels, we strive to promote inclusion in academic, industrial, and government institutions for our organization's current and future members. Council of Scientific Society Presidentsthe Leader in Leadership Development in ScienceFounded in 1973, the Council of Scientific Society Presidents (CSSP) has served as a center for national science leadership development, a strong voice in support of science in the nation’s capital, and the premier forum for national science policy development through open, substantive exchanges on current issues encompassing the full spectrum of science, engineering, and mathematics. A unique organization, CSSP represents the breadth of science and engineering research disciplines through its member societies and federations. CSSP member societies are represented by their presidents, presidents-elect, and past-presidents with combined membership that has historically approached nearly a million scientists.
